Please join us at the Church for a series of community lectures. Pertinent to state, national and international issues and events, the lectures encompass a broad array of topics important in today's changing and ever challenging world. You may choose to attend one, a few or the entire group. The series which is held from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. is free to the community, however contributions will gladly be accepted.

Monday, July 28 - David T. Scadden, MD - Co-Founder of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and Director of the Center for Regenerative Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital . Dr. Scadden has co-authored more than one-hundred publications in peer-reviewed journals and has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international meetings. A nationally recognized expert in the field of stem cells, his talk will be entitled “Stem Cell Medicine: Where's the Beef?”

Monday, August 4 - Steve Potts, Esq. & W. Michael Hoffman, PhD - Steve is past Director of the U. S. Office of Government Ethics and Mike is the Founding Executive Director of the Center for Business Ethics at Bentley College . Steve and Mike will discuss the general fields of government and business ethics including specific past examples and future possible occurrences in these areas. Their talk will be entitled “Working to Achieve Ethical Organizational Cultures.”

Monday, August 11 - Professor Andrew R. Wilson - Founding member of the Asia-Pacific Studies Group at the Naval War College . Before joining the Naval War College , Professor Wilson taught Chinese History at both Wellesley College and Harvard. He is the author of numerous articles on Chinese military history, Chinese Sea Power and Chinese Diaspora. A well known expert on China , the title of his talk will be “ China – the Past, Present and Future.”

Monday, August 18 - Andrew W. Savitz - Internationally known expert on corporate social responsibility. Mr. Savitz, a former Rhodes Scholar, created the environmental advisory services practice at Coopers & Lybrand. He is a frequent keynote speaker on how the best run companies are achieving economic, social and environmental, (i.e., dealing with climate change) success – and how you can too. His talk will be entitled “The Role of Business in Society.”

Monday, August 25 - Professor Marc A. Genest - Dr. Genest will be returning this year after giving a most interesting lecture on terrorism last year. He is professor of Strategy and Policy at the Naval War College . Professor Genest is a well known local political commentator. He has been working on the differences between Democratic and Republican alternatives in Iraq . His talk will be entitled “The Election and How it will Affect the Conduct of the Iraq War.”
